Rocktoberfest Criterium on Sunday, October 11, 2009
Come join us for the 10th annual Rocktoberfest Criterium on Sunday, October 11. This year we return to Lakeshore Drive for the first time since 2004. We'll be using the same course we used for the Tour de Louisiane. You can pre-register online at http://www.bikereg.com/events/register.asp?eventid=9438. This will be the last race of the 2009 LAMBRA road racing season and rumor has it that everyone will be meeting at the Kona Cafe' (7306 Lakeshore Drive between Robt. E. Lee and the lake) afterwards for a little end-of-season gathering. Please come out and support the race and celebrate another successful road season with us.
Pre-register online at BikeReg.com (online registration closes at midnight on Friday, Oct. 9). Race day registration opens at 7:00 a.m. and closes 15 minutes before each race. Race day entries are $5 additional. Entry fees include USCF insurance surcharge. Riders without USCF licenses purchase 1-day licenses ($10 additional) at registration.
Coming from the West on I-10, continue east 1.8 mi. past Causeway Blvd. in the CENTER LANE to I-610 (I-10 curves right here, so just continue straight). Take the first I-610 exit, Exit 1A, to West End Blvd. Go North on West End Blvd. and across Robert E. Lee Blvd. 2 miles until you hit the lake and park in the parking area to the right. COURSE and EVENT INFORMATION
The 10th annual Lakeshore Rocktoberfest has developed into the area's classic end-of-season road event. This year we will be racing on Lakeshore Drive, using the same course as this year's Tour de Louisiane. This is a challenging 0.9 mi. L-shaped circuit that crosses the levee twice each lap. [See the course map].
