You will find attached a .jpg copy of the feature Bicycling Magazine just put out on our Geneo. Dare we say: its flattering description is pretty accurate with regards to describing this bike’s remarkable qualities.

We thought you would appreciate the scoop (if you haven’t already come across it). Feel free to share the good news with other cyclists.

We are having another Tour of New Orleans this Sunday, 7:00AM. Starting place is the far right corner of the Audubon Zoo parking lot. The course will be the same (53 miles) and there will be (hopefully) wood across the gravel before the train bridge at the end of Almonaster, so no walking. Some of the more hard core riders asked to make the course longer, which we can discuss as we get out there. We can possibly ride past the NASA facility in case any of you have never seen a rocket ship. Also, Poland avenue might be an alternative to go through the 9th Ward instead of up the new part of Almonaster like we did last time. Anyway, here's the course unchanged:

Bring money for coffee or biegnets. We will also discuss making this a weekly or every-other-week event as well as discussing conflicts with the Northshore ride.

Six13 Feminine 1...The Blond Racer

It's the leggy blond from gym class who wore makeup and was protective of her manicure, but also could bench press more than you and beat you to the finish line.

Frame construction, an aluminum rear triangle fused with carbon top and down tubes, and geometry also give the ride a welcome snap, especially when climbing.

The geometry also gives the ride a welcome snap, especially when climbing. Whether cornering hard or subtly changing spots in a pack, we found the handling responsive and predictable.

Jairo Álvarez, my friend and outstanding senior cyclist from Baton Rouge has recently published his biography titled No Such Thing as Impossible. I enjoyed the book so much and wanted to share some information about it.

This memoir chronicles Jairo’s life, which starts on a potato farm in the mountains of Colombia. Jairo worked his way up the ranks of the Army to become a lieutenant member of the elite Presidential Guard in the early 1960s protecting his President from the rebels who sought to overthrow his government.

At 25 years old Jairo was forced to leave the country he loved. He landed in Miami with one hundred dollars in his wallet, unable to speak a word of English.

Jairo learned to speak the language and within a few years, he graduated with honors from the Albany Business College.

Today, this U.S. Citizen is a millionaire philanthropist who builds the St. Jude’s Dream Home each year. He is also an Olympic gold medalist in cycling and a cancer survivor.

To honor the memory of his parents and help his country of origin he’s designated all royalties from the book to charity organizations in Columbia.

After a long one year, one month, six days, and 5-hours, I finally received my custom Intense Spider FRO Works 4" large. frame. It's the first (#1) production frame made after the prototype one! Just look at the pics and you will see the Spider FRO was worth the wait. The large frame weighs in just over 5 lb.. Jeff Steber's alloy welds are some of the best in the business! All the little custom machined parts all over the frame is simply perfection! Thanks Jason (my inside rep) and Jeff (owner) for giving me a little slice of dirt Heaven!
P.S. The man himself (Jeff Steber) autographed the frame too!
