[BatonRougeBikeClub] Rite of Passage Ride 9AM Monday from Greensburg
BRBC and CCC will mark the change in calendar from 2007 to 2008 with our traditional year end ride. The ride is short (30-35 miles) but we ride in any weather. After the ride, enjoy the company of your fellow riders over a glass of champagne, black-eyed peas, cabbage, and turkey gumbo. No reservations of fees. Park in the lot east of the Conoco truck stop on LA-10 to roll out at 9AM
Get to Greensburg by taking I-12 to Walker exit (LA-447 north) then at right (East) on US-190 (Florida) to LA-449 (1.5 miles), then left toward Pine Grove. Jog left then right on LA-63 to continue on LA-449. In Pine Grove follow LA-449 right on LA-16 for 1 block, then left on LA-449 to Greensburg. At end of the road, take LA-37 to Greensburg, and take a right on LA-10 to go through town, where the Conoco will be at the bottom of the hill on the right.
For a simpler set of directions, take Greenwell Springs Road (LA-37) from Baton Rouge to Greensburg, then take a right on LA-10 to go through town, where the Conoco will be at the bottom of the hill on the right. This route is a speed trap in East Baton Rouge parish, with a 45 MPH speed limit for 20 miles. Don't say you were not warned.
If you live downtown or on the west bank, get to the airport (BTR) and take Harding (LA-408) east to Hooper, then at the end of the road, turn left on Greenwell Spring Rd (LA-37) to Greensburg. At Greensburg, take a right on LA-10 to go through town, where the Conoco will be at the bottom of the hill on the right. This route is a speed trap on LA-37 in East Baton Rouge parish, with a 45 MPH speed limit for 15 miles. Ditto disclaimer of route above.
Any way takes about an hour from Baton Rouge.
