BIKE SAFETY CLASSES: ONE HOUR TO SAFER RIDING
Robin Gibb Diamond
in light of the recent tragedy in Covington and the fact that when the trails are wet, many of us take to the road. I thought I would share this here:
BIKE SAFETY CLASSES: ONE HOUR TO SAFER RIDING
The Capital Regional Planning Commission and Bike and Pedestrian Associates are pleased to announce FREE one hour bike classes that WILL improve your safety while riding your bike on the street, in bike lanes, or on multiuse trails.
This class will help prevent you from crashing by avoiding hazards, and riding in a predictable and safe way where other riders, and drivers are less likely to crash into YOU.
This is class is not aimed at super fit and high speed riders. The techniques taught can be used by riders of ALL abilities.
LSU has begun enforcement of traffic laws in place for cyclists, and this course has all the information you need to avoid receiving a citation. Students, commuters, fitness and recreational riders are encouraged to attend.
All classes are open to adults (18 and older) with drivers licence knowledge of the rules of the road. Classes will be conducted Weeknights and Saturdays at the BREC Independence Park (Lobdell @ Government/Independence) meeting room complex.
Tuesday 22 Jan @ 6:30 PM
Thursday 24 Jan @ 6:30 PM
Saturday 26 Jan @ 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM
