Spring Ride & 5 K

http://bccbike.org/springride/ Hosted by Bayou Country Cyclists (the Green Team)Bayou Runners This Sunday is the Hopp's Hope ride down near Houma, a benefit for Scott Hoppmeyer who was critically injured while riding his bike down in Bayou country. Scott is a handfull of life and spirit and it would go a long way to his recovery if you were to show up and ride. Scott made it a point to attend almost every Time Trial in the area and was talking about making the leap into road racing when his accident happened. A year before the accident, Scott adopted an abused and discarded puppy that was stuck in and almost drowned in the 17th Street Canal. Since his accident, "Gracie" has had to find other accommodations. If you ever met him, you'd know that Scott is a hell of a guy, a man's man who drives a Corvette and enjoys all the good, simple things that come with a successful life. He's been generous with his time and is always eager to guide new athletes. Now he needs our help. Just show up and ride. Proceeds go to the Southeast Spinal Cord Injury Fund in honor of Scott Hoppmeyer. Visit: http://bccbike.org/springride/ Kenny

Belles on Bikes is this Saturday, April 28th

Belles on Bikes is this Saturday, April 28th. Register now to insure a special item in your goodie bag (limited to first 75 registrants). Online registration closes at midnight Thursday. http://natchezbike.org/bellesonbikes.htm Belles on Bikes is a women's only recreational ride starting from downtown Natchez, MS and includes riding on the Natchez Trace. This is the only event of its kind in the region. Come join women from all over for a great weekend of cycling. Guys, if you are trying to get your significant other interested in cycling but she is hesitant because she is intimidated by events dominated by the men, this is an awesome event for only women guaranteed to break the ice. From the 16 mile route to the historic girls' school to the scenic and more challenging 48 mile Church Hill loop or the 58 mile route that includes the state park, there is something for Belles at every level of cycling expertise, but the shorter routes provide the pleasure of road riding through the countryside that just may be the key to her discovering that love for cycling that you have been trying to explain. Natchez is a short drive from Baton Rouge, the weather forecast looks great, and the scenery will be beautiful. The ride has a few feminine touches like a refreshing lunch after the ride, door prizes, and a super goodie bag at registration. So encourage and support her in this--you might be surprised by the results. Babs http://natchezbike.org/bellesonbikes.htm
